Services
Start with the question you need answered.
The right starting point depends on how much you already know. You do not have to know which one you need before we speak.
Where should I start?
Not sure which one fits? Start with the question closest to yours.
You do not have to work through all four. Start wherever the problem starts.
Search Performance & Opportunity Audit
Where do we stand, and where could search be contributing more?
A good fit whenYou want an independent view of search before deciding whether to invest further, or you know there is more potential but are not yet sure where it sits.
Fixed scopeThis is a focused look at where you are today and where the strongest opportunities might be.
I look at current performance, what people are searching for, who you are competing with and how your brand is showing up across Google and AI. Then I narrow that down to the areas that deserve more attention.
It is deliberately a first read, not a full diagnosis. The point is to find out where the opportunity or problem appears to be before spending more time and money digging into it.
What you get
- A clear view of where you stand today
- The areas where I see the strongest gaps or opportunities
- The two or three things I think are worth looking at more closely
- A recommendation on what I would do next, if anything
Where the opportunity sits and whether it is worth going deeper.
Search Diagnosis & Strategy
Why are we underperforming, and what needs to change?
A good fit whenYou know search should be doing better, performance has stalled or changed, or there are several competing explanations for what the problem is.
Fixed scopeThis is the deeper one.
Rather than starting with a list of SEO fixes, I look at what is actually driving performance and what is holding it back. That can mean looking across the site, content, competitors, authority, measurement and the way the work is being prioritised.
The point is to get underneath the symptoms. From there, I narrow the findings down to the few things that matter most and turn them into a plan the business can actually make decisions from.
What you get
- A diagnosis of the main things affecting performance
- Three to five priorities, with the evidence behind them
- A clear view of what I would not prioritise yet
- A now / next / later roadmap
- A way to tell whether the changes are working
What needs to change, what deserves attention first and why.
Hands-on Strategy Support
We know what needs to change. What does that look like in practice?
This can includeContent and category strategy, brand and authority direction, technical requirements, measurement and success criteria, and support around a major search-related change.
Project scopedNot every problem needs another audit.
If the priority is already clear, I can work with your team on the part that still needs solving. The job here is to turn a direction into something useful enough for people to work from.
That might mean shaping a content or category strategy, working through technical requirements, defining how you build authority around an important topic or getting the measurement right.
The output depends on the problem. We agree what useful looks like before the work starts.
I work with the people already responsible for the work rather than replacing them.
A clear direction and what your team needs to move it forward.
Fractional Search Advisory
Need senior search input without another full-time hire?
I can get involved inReviewing strategies and roadmaps, working through decisions that are difficult to undo, challenging priorities when teams disagree, and reviewing progress when the evidence says to change direction.
Ad hoc or ongoingSometimes you do not need another project. You need someone experienced you can bring into the conversation when something important comes up.
I work around the team or agency you already have, giving you an independent view on plans, priorities and decisions where another senior perspective would help.
That could mean reviewing a roadmap before you commit to it, challenging an agency recommendation, working through a replatform or helping make sense of a change in search before the business reacts to it.
For agencies, this can also mean bringing me into a client problem, pitch or area where you want another senior search perspective. Behind the scenes or client-facing, depending on what helps.
I am there to add judgement, not another layer of account management.
Senior search input when it matters, without adding another full-time role.
What working together looks like
The shape of the work changes depending on the problem. The way it runs is usually pretty straightforward.
First conversation
We start with 30 minutes. You tell me what is going on, what you are trying to work out and anything you have already tried.
Scope it
If there is a fit, I put the question, scope, deliverables, timing and fees in writing. Everything is agreed before we start.
Get the context
I get into the business, the data and the context behind the problem. I speak to the right people so the work is grounded in your reality.
Do the work
I get into the analysis, research and working sessions needed to answer the question properly. I keep you close enough that there are no surprises.
Deliver the answer
I bring the work together into a clear recommendation, usually through a presentation and walkthrough. You leave with the answer, the priorities and what should happen next.
A few practical questions
Things people usually ask before getting in touch.
Do I need to know which service I need?
No. Tell me what is happening and what you are trying to work out. I will tell you where I think it makes sense to start, including if I do not think you need me.
Do I have to start with an audit?
In most cases, yes. It gives me a grounded view of what is actually happening before we decide what needs to change. I have seen teams spend time and money solving the wrong problem because the initial read was off.
What if the problem is not actually SEO?
Then I will tell you. The audit is there to work out what is really affecting performance, not to manufacture SEO work. Sometimes the answer sits elsewhere, and sometimes the right next step does not involve me.
Where do you fit if we already have an SEO team or agency?
I work alongside them. The aim is not to replace the people already doing the work, but to give them an extra senior perspective, challenge the thinking where useful and help the team have more impact.
What will you need from our team?
Usually a clear internal contact, access to the right information and some time with the people closest to the problem. I want enough context to ground the work in your business and your data without filling everyone’s calendars.
How do fees work?
Audits and diagnoses are fixed scope. Strategy support is scoped around the problem, while advisory can be occasional or ongoing. Once I understand what you need, I will recommend the simplest version of the work that will do the job and agree the fee before we start.
Get in touch
Not sure where to start? You do not need a polished brief.
Send me a few lines about what is going on, what you are trying to work out and anything useful I should know. We'll start with a 30-minute conversation and take it from there.
